What an amazing first time in magical Telluride meeting beautiful people from all over- from San Diego to New Hampshire to DC to Kauai. And of course befriending locals, some of whom with roots in the area dating back many generations who understood the "to hell you ride" that appeared on our ride shirts- a nod to a nickname for Telluride coined by the miners in the rough and tumble days of yore.
A highlight of day one was Sheryl Crow joining String Cheese Incident on "midnight rider". Big Something's performed a rousing set where I got to see my buddies Bill and Sandy. Bill now is the tour manager for Big Something. I used to hang with them when they worked at Baltimore's best club to hear music-the 8 x 10.
Day two was stellar- Chris Robinson belting it out with Joe Russo's almost dead on Bertha and Grace Potter with String Cheese on Take me to the River. JRAD knocked it out of the park then SCI lifted us to the stratosphere - of special note were outstanding renditions of a new song , "Eclipse",performed as a gorgeous sunset occurred and the song "Beautiful".
