After an unbelievable weekend in Telluride with String Cheese, Joe Russo, Big Something and many more, BloodyToe.co loaded up our Ride Festival Show Gear and traveled back to Denver to see SCI at Red Rocks for their 3 day finale to their 2018 tour. We went to the first show Friday night with JJ Gray and Mofro opening up. If was an amazing night that I was able to enjoy with my beautiful wife Alexis. We started off with a little hike on a trail we love around Red Rocks.
It was a great opportunity to relax, enjoy the beautiful Colorado outdoors, get a little exercise, and say hi to some new 4 legged friends. Before heading into the show we decked ourselves out in BloodyToe.co show hats and shirts. Alexis went with our 2018 Mexico Dead and Co Playing in the Sand design while I showed off our 2018 Ride Festival hat and shirts. And of course we had lots of free stickers to share with everyone.
After checking in at the box office we headed back stage where we ran into JJ Grey.
Later backstage we were lucky enough to get our first view of the famous Red Rocks signature stairs of fame . I could have spent all day there reading the names of all the bands that have played Red Rocks over the past 60 years.
The music started with JJ Grey and Mofro, and they did not disappoint; he was the pro he always is. In between sets we headed up top to check out the view. Along the way we ran into one of the more courageous and beautiful young ladies at the show . What a humbling experience when she asked if she could put our To Hell U Ride 2018 Ride festival design on her prosthetic leg.
I was overwhelmed with pride, joy, humility and love. That’s what BloodyToe.co is all about.
Next it was the main event with String Cheese Incident. They had some very kind words for the Colorado crowd, their home town, and they proceeded to rock the amphitheater for the next 3 to 4 hours. Boy can those boys bring it. As a hand percussionist I was mesmerized watching Jason do his thing and the rest of the gang did not disappoint. Front man Michael was on fire Friday night. His heart was right there where it should be sending out positive vibes and amazing sounds through his mandolin guitar and any other instrument he picked up.
This story wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t tell you about the last song featuring SCI and the lead singer from the band Motet, Lyle Divinsky; boy can he belt out the vocals!
Thanks for checking out BloodyToe.co and I hope you like our show merchandise. And remember, if you get a little bloody, just keep on dancing!
