After watching my kids race up ABasin in the morning, Saturday night I headed to Vail and the Ford Amphitheater for the Jerry Garcia Birthday Bash. What a beautiful night listening to my favorite music. Oteil was bringing it on the bass; Tommy H was rocking vocals and his guitar, along with some original Grateful Dead members. And look who’s keeping the rhythm on drums: Mr Trucks himself taking a break from his main gig with WSP. I was too busy dancing down low to get any shots of myself or crew but we proudly rocked our Bloodytoe.co gear. And yes, we were glowing in the dark with our new Day of the Grateful Dead Trucker Hat. After the JRAD show, I had to get up early to see my oldest boy Bryan, his new beautiful bride Erika, her sister Paige, and the rest of their gang run a 10k from the bottom of ABasin to the top of the East wall and back down. Ouch!
These kids rocked it and I got to enjoy a little bluegrass in the background while cheering them on.

August 16th Red Rock Amphitheater Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (JRAD)
Bloodytoe.co having a real good time, along with my wife Alexis and good buddies Bobby, Laura, Ronnie and Anna. David Byrne, who grew up in nearby Arbutus, played on 7/28/18 at the newly renovated Merriweather Post Pavillon in Columbia, MD- one the of the finest outdoor venues in the U.S. The show was a polished, highly choreographed theatrical production with incredible musicianship. As a hardcore Talking Heads devotee, I was in heaven as they played several Heads songs. There was some serious booty shaking going on.
